If a coffee and muffin is more your style, then a short stroll will bring you to the heart of Lennox Head, you'll find a wonderful selection of cafes, bars and retail outlets. Or a stroll along the beachfront will take you to Lake Ainsworth where you'll discover a natural tea tree lake experience.

Perfect location on the beach

Vicki - 13th March 2024This apartment is in the very best location. It was great to wake up to the waves and be able to walk into the village. I must say that the sliding door handles need updating as they "stick" and are extremely difficult to open. The unit was well equipped and clean and we loved our stay there. Lovely welcoming staff at LJ Hooker who went out of their way to assist me when I left some valuables in the unit.

Jo M - 10th July 2023Unbelievable spot - absolutely magic seeing dolphins & whales and 2 minutes walk to the shops and the park - location wanted for nothing. The apartment was disappointing in cleanliness. Dead cockroaches, spiders & bugs in drawers including the kitchen & had to wash chopping boards, baking dishes etc before use, the oven was grotty. I think when you demand cleaning be done before the cleaners but no cleaning gear is supplied, even a spare bin bag, for a 3 days stay it's a bit rich. LJ were great

Desley W - 23rd May 2023I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at Portofino. To be able to enjoy such a huge apartment (with a small yard) situated right on the beach (not in a high rise above but actually on) was amazing. Sand, surf, endless horizon, abundant bird life, glorious sunrises, a drink on the deck as the light fades at the end of the day, listening to the surf as you go to sleep, being amazed at the stars at night; what is not to love? The apartment itself is huge, clean, well appointed (hot, hot water and wonderful water pressure to go with it) and positioned only 1 street back from cafés, bars, restaurants and shops while Lennox Head itself is still small enough and unassuming enough to almost be considered a village. It was thriving and bustling but not touristy insane. This was truly one of the best getaways I have had.

The location is everything, but its let down by tired accommodation that apart from the sheets and bath tub, unclean. It was dirty and not even wiped over. Im serious. The photography doesnt show just how tired the property is. Also the lawn had not been freshly mowed, unlike the air bnb next door the accommodation looked amazing and they tended to the property, more expensive but I would say absolutely worth it.

We were very comfortable in this spacious unit with views out into the backyard & the ocean from the main living area & master bedroom. The bathrooms & kitchen were very big with lots of storage. It is walking distance to shops, cafes etc.

The carpets are stained, some windows wont open and the cleanliness was average. The old cane furniture in the lounge area has seen better days and is damaged and uncomfortable. Unfortunately the large lawn area was also not mowed upon arrival or throughout our stay making it not ideal for small children to play on. The positives are the location and proximity to everything and with some TLC the place could be improved dramatically.

It was luxury to wake up to the sound of the ocean each morning then step out onto the sand for a sunrise beach walk, so beautiful! So close to all shops, cafes etc. but once in the apartment you would never know they were there. Apartment was open & spacious with all you needed to be comfortable. Many thanks to Michelle at LJ Hooker who was friendly, helpful & very professional. We will be back next year.

Shabby carpet and dated furnishings. Also there was no salt and pepper, no olive oil - all basics you would expect in a beachside rental.

Webbs - 26th April 2019We had an amazing stay and couldn't get over the fact you can just step out the back door onto the fab Lennox Surf beach! Above all else that is what made it so brilliant. Unfortunately we had noisy/drunk tenants up stairs from us moving furniture along the floors and yelling around from 2-4am one night so that was disappointing, but thankfully we didn't have a repeat of that! Overall it was a fantastic stay and a week was way too short!

Stunning Ocean Views
Ehee - 4th January 2019The view of the beach from our apartment was fantastic. We did not even have to go to the beach that often. The location was wonderful as we have everything around us. We loved sleeping in to the sound of the ocean, playing beach cricket and and boogie boarding in the waves and nightly beach walks. To to it off we had lovely family photos on the beach to mark the occasion it was a memorial trip and we will be back.

Derek - 16th March 2018Portofino was a perfect location for our family, from the few steps to the beach from the garden, to the outdoor shower and large living area - it was brilliant. The beach is only shared by a few locals at any one time and the nearby lake and walks are a perfect compliment to allow you to capitalise on the great weather at all times. With Lennox Head shops and cafes only a few seconds away, you are able to enjoy a great variety of food, or chose to cook in the well appointed kitchen. We will definitely be returning to Portofino in the future!

We had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday the house is so close to the local shops and of course you have your own beach!! Perfect for teenage children. A Memorable Time - Just Like Coming Home.

The sea life was amazing just sitting and watching whales and porpoises jump and splash made our time memorable. The property is very comfortable and it has all the conveniences you would want or need in your own home.
